2022 Royal Tour of Canada Highlights
His Majesty The King travelled to the Royal Canadian Geographical Society’s beautiful location in Ottawa as part of the 2022 Royal Tour in Canada. With windows looking out onto Rideau Falls – the building was at the confluence of three rivers and two provinces, on the unceded territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation, whose culture and presence have nurtured this land for millennia.
It was against this backdrop that youth and Veteran participants of our programs had a chance to connect, in person, with donors and supporters, and have a remarkable moment to meet personally with HM The King. It was an honour to have the opportunity to highlight our work, creating employment opportunities for young people and members of the military and Veteran community.
We were joined by distinguished guests including The Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Senator Pamela Wallin, Minister of Labour Seamus O’Regan, and Chief Perry Bellegarde, Honorary President of the Royal Canadian Geographic Society and Former National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations.
It was an honour to celebrate the impact of our programs which are largely inspired by HM The King's commitment to accelerating global progress towards a sustainable future, and steadfast support of Veterans and members of the military community.
