Malia Major’s journey with The King’s Trust Canada (TKTC) began at a time of uncertainty. After working full-time for three years and earning a bachelor’s degree, she found it challenging to access affordable and local programs that fit her busy schedule. Malia’s determination to enhance her personal goals led her to TKTC, where she discovered valuable resources. 

Malia participated in Skills Academy workshops and the Young Women in Tech (YWIT) programs. These experiences provided her with the skills and confidence needed to navigate her career path. She was also introduced to various career opportunities in tech, allowing her to engage with professionals who shared their experiences and insights. 

Through Skills Academy, Malia learned the importance of networking and how to effectively build and utilize her professional connections. As an international professional from the Bahamas, she found it challenging to tap into networks in Canada. TKTC’s programs bridged this gap, offering a comfortable environment to develop her networking skills and gain valuable insights into the Canadian job market.
