The King’s Trust Canada celebrates 15 years of impact

The King’s Trust Canada is celebrating fifteen years of supporting young people in Canada with 15 for 15, a year-long anniversary campaign running from September 2026 to September 2027.

The organization was registered as a charity in Canada on 16 September 2011. On that date this year — fifteen years to the day — the CN Tower was lit to mark the milestone, opening a year of content, events and celebration across the country. The campaign will be formally launched on 29 September 2026 at Government House in Victoria, hosted by the Honourable Wendy Cocchia, CM, OBC, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia.

Over the following twelve months, The King’s Trust Canada will release fifteen content pieces — films, participant stories and retrospectives — each marking a defining moment from the organization’s past, present and future. These will run alongside fifteen events across the country bringing together young people, community organizations, educators, employers and supporters. The campaign closes in September 2027 with a closing ceremony and a year in review.

Founded in the United Kingdom in 1976 by His Majesty King Charles III, The King’s Trust has supported 1.5 million young people worldwide, and took root in Canada in 2011. Since then, The King’s Trust Canada has supported thousands of young people aged 15 to 24 to access, engage in and succeed in meaningful economic opportunities — bridging the gap between education and employment through future-ready skills development, access to networks, experience building and career discovery. Many participants have become the first in their families to access sustained economic opportunity.

Globally, King’s Trust evidence shows that 70% of young people supported move into education, employment or self-employment, and that every £1 invested in the Trust’s programs has led to £5 in social benefits.

Potential is universal. Opportunity is not. Closing that gap — particularly for young people from underserved communities — has been the organization’s work since 2011, at a time when young people in Canada face some of the most complex transitions from education to employment in a generation.

The anniversary coincides with the launch of The King’s Trust Canada’s 2026–2031 Strategic Plan, which sets out a goal of supporting 100,000 young people over the next five years with future-ready skills, networks and opportunities to learn, earn, and thrive.

The campaign is an invitation to invest in what comes next, calling on investors who believe opportunity should not depend on circumstance, and that young people are central to Canada’s long-term prosperity.

Campaign news, the fifteen content pieces and event information will be published throughout the year at kingstrust.ca/15years. Follow along on LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok, and Facebook and YouTube, using #15for15.
