This session is part of our Young Women in Tech program series - a series of FREE programs, sponsored by KPMG, for young women to explore careers in technology and develop their tech skills. 

📅 On June 13th and 14th, The King’s Trust Canada and KPMG are hosting an incredible FREE event for young women interested in tech careers in Toronto. This 2-day event will feature a series of workshops, discussion groups and will be centered on participants completing a design thinking challenge. Participants will learn the concept of design thinking from KPMG staff then have the chance to activate their voices as they explore how to combat the challenges that keep women from thriving in the tech industry.

Who should sign up?

• Female-identifying individuals between 18-30 years of age
• Individuals interested in the tech sector but not currently working in it  
• Individuals new to the tech sector (still in a junior or entry level role)
• Women looking to build their professional network 

Learning outcomes:

• Dive into design thinking and collaborate with peers to tackle real-world tech challenges 🌐💡 
• Network and connect with fellow young women who share your passion for tech.
• Gain insights and mentorship from women already making waves in the tech industry.
• Boost your confidence and learn how to navigate the tech sector with ease.

Program Overview:

• Participants are required to attend both days (9:30am – 2:30pm)
• Day 1: Keynote address, intro to design thinking workshop, design thinking challenge (part 1 and 2)
• Day 2: Q&A with women in tech professionals, design thinking challenge part 3, closing and celebrations
• Lunch will be provided on both days
• Opportunities for discussion, knowledge sharing and mentorship
