VETERANS

As you know, earlier this year, The King’s Trust Canada took the difficult but necessary decision to sunset the Operation Entrepreneur programming as of March 31, 2024. Over the last decade, the landscape of Veteran-serving organizations in Canada has significantly grown. Today, there are many expert organizations offering specialized support to Veterans and their families. In light of this changed landscape, we made the decision to transfer our assets and programs to organizations who are well-placed to provide entrepreneurship support to this incredible group of Canadians. We look forward to applying our full focus on responding to Canada's youth unemployment crisis and the needs of Canada's young people, including the children of Veterans. 

To ensure that your business continues to be recognized as Veteran owned in a trusted, respected community, we are pleased to announce that the Military Transition Engagement and Partnerships (MTEP) team at the Canadian Armed Forces Transition Group, with the support of Veterans Affairs Canada, will host the Buy Veterans business directory on their National Resource Database (NRD).

The NRD is an online database of all organizations that empower the military, Veteran, and family (MVF) communities which connects serving members, veterans and their families to organizations offering services, programs and opportunities that meet their needs. 

The NRD has organizations spanning all Domains of Well-being, across all sectors in Canadian society.  All organizations in the NRD have been verified and categorized according to their readiness levels to support the MVF communities thus establishing a truly Trusted Support Network that our people and their families can rely on for reliable and quality services. This development means that the Veteran entrepreneur community that we built will be preserved and with these new resources, will continue to foster relationships and expand the network.  

To transition to the NRD, please click here. You will receive a notification confirming that your application has been received, and an MTEP Representative will reach out to you with next steps. Further, MTEP will host a virtual session in August to welcome you into the ecosystem. More details to come. 

Please note The King’s Trust Canada will not transfer any of your data or information to the NRD. Please also note that as of August 23. 2024, buyveteran.ca will no longer be functional.
